Creating Frankenstein Breakfast Casserole

This morning I took a little of this and a little of that and created what I call Frankenstein.  There is a lot of things I will do different next time, but I wouldn’t know if I hadn’t put this dish together the way I did.

I was curious and wondered, “What if…?” I combined what I do for bread pudding with a souffle recipe. We also had some stovetop apple pie left and I added it in the middle.  I waffled on when to put the crumb topping.  I put it in the middle but think the dish would look nicer with it on top.

The souffle part didn’t rise.  But the pan isn’t right, will need to figure out what I want to do to correct  that.

Almost wish I had made apple turnovers, otherwise known as hand-pies.  It would have been fun to harvest with one hand and eat with the other.
